Meet Richard Tucker

For nearly 20 years, Richard has been a local leader, having overseen the Burnsville, and later on Lakeville offices for Coldwell Banker Realty, where he worked with community and state leaders to help make the District a desired community to live and work in.

Richard Tucker II was born in Pittsfield, MA as the eldest of five children. Richard’s father was the founder of a successful residential real estate business in a town defined by a few factories struggling to stay competitive.  At an early age, Richard was intrigued by the real estate business. He was struck by how success in residential real estate was tied to encouraging the success of the community.  As a local agent, his father knew every neighborhood, every local business and decades of history for every home in town.  He took pride not in the sale of a house but the affirmation each sale represented as an investment in the community.

At twenty-one Richard went to secure his license and never looked back. Like his father before him, Richard used his position as a real estate agent in both Massachusetts and Minnesota to immerse himself in the needs and future of the community and its people. In nearly forty years in real estate Richard has learned to listen and find solutions for people in order to help them achieve their dreams and invest in their future.

As an extension of his passionate commitment to community development, Richard has been actively involved with programs such as the Burnsville Convening Project which promoted the advantages of building and growing businesses in Burnsville. As recognition for his work promoting Burnsville and ISD191, Richard was awarded the Starfish Award by Burnsville’s Mayor Kautz. Richard continued the promotion of local opportunities through his work with Burnsville Promise, an organization that worked with the community and ISD 191 to help students understand what job and career opportunities are open to them and the pathways they can follow to achieve them.

Richard has been a recognized leader in the Minnesota Real Estate community for nearly two decades. Richard is an active member of the Minnesota Association of Realtors where he serves on the Professional Standards Committee, the Government Affairs Committee and the St. Paul Area Association of Realtors Government Affairs Committee. Richard was previously the President of the St. Paul Area Association of Realtors, during this time, Richard led the Association through two mergers with Southern Twin Cities and The North Metro Associations of Realtors.  He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors where he serves on The Professional Standards Committee.

Tucker is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine with a BA in Economics and is married to Donna Nesbitt.  They have six children and seven grandchildren.
